Our Grade 9 Farewell Celebration will be held at Lakeland Ridge School in the Kona Gym on Friday, June 14 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Grade 9 student awards will also be presented to recipients during the Farewell Celebration. More information about Junior High Awards is available on our school website.
Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. and we ask that all students arrive no later than 6:45 p.m., so the ceremony can begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. The theme our Grade 9 students chose for this event is “Remember the Journey”.
VOLUNTEERS
We are looking for adult volunteers to help plan and coordinate the Grade 9 Farewell Celebration. Please send an email to general.llr@eips.ca if you are interested in getting involved. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
TICKETS
Due to seating capacity limits in the gymnasium, each family can purchase a maximum of four seats. Tickets are $8.00 per guest. There is no cost for student tickets. We are using a general seating format, with reserved seats for our Grade 9 students, guest speakers, and school staff. Proceeds from ticket sales assist with covering items for the event, such as decor and refreshments. Additional costs are covered by the school as well as a donation from our Parent Action Society.
Guest tickets will be sold from May 27 to June 10 on the Powerschool Parent Portal. Tickets will be available at 9:00 a.m. on May 27. Families can purchase up to 4 tickets during that time. On June 4, any remaining seats will be available for purchase through the Parent Portal if any families would like additional seats, on a first-come, first-served basis. Ticket sales will end on June 10 at 3:30 p.m. or until they sell out. Tickets will be distributed to your child by June 12. Grade 9 students do not require a ticket to attend.
DRESS
Although we do not have a specific dress code for the evening, students are encouraged to dress for a semi-formal event. We discourage students and families from purchasing expensive attire or accessories.
CEREMONY
The ceremony will begin at 7:00 p.m. with the entrance of our Grade 9 students and speeches from invited guests, school administration, students, and staff. There will also be a presentation of a completion certificate to each student, a photo slideshow, and a performance by a group of students. Families will have opportunities to take pictures throughout the evening and ceremony.
RECEPTION
Following the ceremony, there will be a small reception for students and their guests in the Mukluk gym. This will give students, family members, guests, and staff an opportunity to interact and enjoy some refreshments. The event will conclude at 9:00 p.m.
GRADE 9 THEME DAYS
Our Grade 9 Farewell Week will be from Monday, June 10 until Friday, June 14. Grade 9 students are encouraged to have fun and participate in our theme days.

- Tuesday, June 11: Dress as a Staff Member
- Wednesday, June 12: Disney Day
- Thursday, June 13: Neon Day
- Friday, June 14: Comfy Cozy Day then Dress Your Best for the evening event
